In 2011, I walked into a small woodshop in Camp Lejeune, NC.
What started out as a distraction from the stresses of military life evolved into a passion for creating long-lasting woodworks.
Being mostly self-taught, it took time, and some trial and error, but I eventually found my stride. In 2016, after enough expressed interest, I decided to take the next step, and created what you now see as Knot & Gnarl.
It is my hope that you find a piece here that not only serves a function in your home, but that you consider beautiful enough to put on display rather than stuff in a cupboard.
HANDCRAFTED IN ALEXANDRIA
Each piece is handcrafted in my Alexandria, VA workshop. All of our wood is kiln-dried and locally sourced from a family owned and operated planing mill in northwestern Maryland.
Explore the site. Maybe you’ll find something that speaks to you. If you do, I hope you enjoy looking at and using these products as much as I enjoyed creating them.
